Dark Tired Eyes? Top Tips to Brighten Your Eyes and Your Day

Do you suffer from dark circles, puffiness and tired looking eyes? Do you wish there was a solution to help you achieve the bright eyed, youthful sparkle that you dream of? Well there is. There are some great beauty products on the high street to magically cover up, replenish and reduce dark circles. Here's some of the best on offer, which got the thumbs up from my clients.

  • ·      To Reduce Dark Circles

Dark Circles increase with age due to multiple factors; UV damage, poor circulation and shadows cast by lines. These multi-action products instantly brighten the look of the eye area, while reducing the appearance of dark circles.

Clinique’s Even Better Eyes Dark Circle Corrector promises to reduce dark circles by 30% in 12 weeks and brighten the appearance of the whole eye area. Vitamin C and mulberry root help to minimise darkness, whilst whey protein promotes collagen production, making the thin eye-area skin appear less transparent. There’s even a cooling massage tip to refresh tired-looking eyes and give your eyes an added sparkle. £30, clinique.co.uk

  • ·      To Cover Up

Whilst skincare can help to improve the visual appearance of the eye area and prevent further damage, sometimes we need a quick fix, which is where the beauty of makeup comes in. There has been an influx of conceal and correct products that have recently come on to the market but here’s a few of my favourites which I currently use in my work, to help you achieve the luminous radiance we all desire.

It all began with YSL’s legendary Touche Eclat. Now available in 10 shades for all skin types, it’s a must have for every woman looking to conceal dark circles and highlight their best features. With a few strategic strokes of this award-winning complexion highlighter, dark circles, fine lines and signs of fatigue virtually disappear. Powered by the radiance-boosting Luminocaptide Complex, skin is instantly illuminated, so you look rested and refreshed even if you’ve been up for hours. This month marks the release of the Limited Edition Rock Lace edition, adorned with beautiful black polka dot tulle packaging. £25, yslbeauty.com

My favourite beauty brand MAC’s Studio Finish Concealer Duo, features two colours to give you a customizable hue. Lasting up to 8 hours and water resistant, the creamy lightweight, highly concentrated formula helps to conceal dark circles and blemishes, moles, tattoos, birthmarks and discolourations. A little bit goes a long way. A clever tip if you want to conceal dark circles is to apply a peachy toned concealer to the area first before applying your natural skin tone shade on top. This counteracts the blue of the under eye area. Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier also offer good alternatives. £23, maccosmetics.co.uk
